WalkBuddy is published by MT Design and Dynamics LLC ("we"). By using WalkBuddy you agree to these terms.
1. Apple's licence
WalkBuddy is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it; where they differ, Apple's agreement governs your licence to the app.
2. Credits
- Credits are a virtual item used only to light lamps in WalkBuddy. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the app, and cannot be transferred to another person.
- Bought credits are consumable and do not expire. Purchases are made through Apple; refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules.
- Credits earned by walking and gifts of credits may change in future versions of the app. Credits already in your walk stay yours.
- Deleting your data (Delete everything) deletes your credits, including bought ones, and they cannot be restored.
3. Lamps
- Lamps are a virtual gesture inside the app. They carry the tradition's meaning in words, but they change nothing in the walk and have no effect outside the app: no real lamp is lit, and no money goes to any monastery, temple or charity.
- Shared lamps can be seen by other players without your name. We may hide or remove any shared lamp, for example to stop misuse.
4. Your health and safety
- WalkBuddy is a game that uses your step count. It is not a medical device and gives no medical, fitness or travel advice.
- Walk where and when it is safe, and within your own limits. Talk to a doctor before changing how much you exercise.
- The kora in the app is a picture of a real high-altitude pilgrimage. It is not a guide for walking it: real conditions, routes and rules on the mountain differ and change.
5. Our content
- The app's mountain is built from our own drone survey of the kora. The survey, the art, the buddy and the app's words are ours or our licensors'. Do not copy, extract or redistribute them, and do not take apart or tamper with the app or its data, beyond what the law allows you.
- Do not misuse the shared lamps, for example by writing to them other than through the app.
- Map and data credits for the app and this website are listed in the app (Koras > About and settings) and at the foot of the home page.
6. Changes and availability
We may change, pause or end features of WalkBuddy or these terms. If the terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
7. Liability
WalkBuddy is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of the place where you live.
